Vacuum installation system
We believe it should be possible to perform a whole range of work with the same machine, from laying or removing kerbstones and paving stones, to mechanised paving and laying driveway blocks. That is why we supply a single vacuum system that is multifunctional and can be used to carry out all mechanised paving work. A system where the various vacuum cups can be changed quickly and easily without the need for complicated tinkering.
The basis of the vacuum systems supplied by De Schans BV consists of your own Knikmops (or other machine) on which a high-vacuum pump is placed. The vacuum unit consists of a vacuum pump driven by a petrol or hydraulic motor. The vacuum pump is connected to one or more suction cups with a vacuum hose. The cups are sucked onto the object to be lifted. The vacuum unit consists of a vacuum pump driven by a petrol, diesel or hydraulic motor. The vacuum unit is supplied in a capacity of 40 m3 or 100 m3. The unit sucks the air vacuum with a vane pump. The advantage of the vane pump is that it has a fixed output and that it is reliable and quiet.
The petrol-driven unit is powered by a Kawasaki engine, which drives the pump by means of a V belt. This unit is started manually with a starter cord. The pallet opening makes it possible to mount the vacuum unit on a shovel or forklift truck.
Petrol unit 40 m3/h weighs 120 kg.
Hydraulic unit 40 m3/h weighs 50 kg.
Hydraulic unit 100 m3/h weighs 75 kg.
All units are equipped with a Busch vacuum pump.
The vacuum pump is connected by a hose to one or more suction heads which latch onto the object to be lifted. This makes it possible to lay kerbstones, carriageway kerbs, steel-reinforced concrete paving slabs, driveway blocks or pavement slabs.
For rental purposes, the unit is suspended from the back of a frame, for example on a Knikmops. The upper and lower lifting eyes mean the vacuum unit can easily be hoisted by a crane. Thanks to a separate drive from the petrol-driven unit, it is easy to swap between different machines.
The 11 and 12 paver suction head can simultaneously lift or lay eleven or twelve 30 x 30 cm pavers in half stretcher bond. The four sides of the suction head feature two pairs of clamps which ensure the pavers are correctly held in place. The paver suction head must be used in conjunction with a vacuum unit + rotator and, where necessary, a telescopic arm. This is necessary if the suction cup unit is mounted on a Knikmops. The vacuum unit can easily be swapped between different Knikmops machines.
